Listen to the roars of the crowd in this YouTube video as native Oklahoman and country music superstar Carrie Underwood takes the stage Wednesday night in a surprise appearance at New Kids on the Block’s Nashville, Tenn., tour stop.
The Checotah native sang “Happy Birthday” to NKOTB members Jordan Knight (born May 17, 1970) and Danny Wood (born May 14, 1969) from the stage at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena.
The newly announced 2017 Oklahoma Hall of Famer wasn’t the only country star power at the Nashville show: Duo Big & Rich surprised audiences with a performance of their hit song “Save a Horse, Ride a Cowboy.” NKOTB undoubtedly delivered a night to remember for the crowd of 20,000 Blockheads.
It wasn’t the first time Underwood stepped into the spotlight at a Nashville NKOTB concert: As previously reported, she attended their 2015 Bridgestone Arena show, and the guys even took her request, serenading her with their ballad “Single.” Check out that video here.
NKOTB is on the road with its “Total Package Tour” alongside Grammy Award winners Paula Abdul and Boyz II Men. As previously reported, the tour includes an Oklahoma show May 24 at Tulsa’s BOK Center, 200 S Denver. For tickets and information, go to www.bokcenter.com.
